Water pumps adapt to local conditions
Pump specialist Grundfos has reminded plumbing professionals that products adaptation to local conditions is imperative.
Mike Otten, general manager at South Africa's Grundfos distribution service, noted that the current diversity of brands means experts have to ascertain which products give them the best value for money according to their specific needs.
"South African applications are in many cases different from other world requirements, while know-how of maintaining the applications and the pump manufacturer's adaptation to local conditions are essential," he explained to Cape Business News.
"At the stage where the customer is really in need of a pump, a motor or accessories, availability and distribution coverage are critical factors," he added.
Grundfos manufactures a range of products and accessories especially for the African market, homing in the pumps' quality, performance and price.
The firm also recently highlighted its international credentials when representatives revealed that the Alldos electrolytic chlorination system would provide "safe and simple" disinfection for water purification in any region.
Grundfos's water treatment system followed the release of the company's Alpha2, a circulator pump designed to significantly reduce carbon emissions.
