Warning issued on gas cookers
PEOPLE returning to flood-damaged homes have been warned about the dangers of using outdoor portable generators, camping stove, gas cookers or other gasoline, propane or natural gas devices indoors.
Professor Virginia Murray, from the Health Protection Agency said: "Use of these devices inside the home can lead to carbon monoxide poisoning which can be fatal, which evidence suggests is the biggest single acute chemical risk to people in flood-hit areas."
