Smoke alarms interface with carbon monoxide alarms
Aico wireless RadioLINK smoke alarms now interface with carbon monoxide alarms for more comprehensive protection
Now Carbon Monoxide (CO) alarms systems can be quickly and safely interfaced with Aico's wireless RadioLINK mains powered smoke and heat alarm system, with the introduction of the new mains powered Ei420 Repeater and CO Alarm Interface The new Ei420 is a stand-alone unit designed to be hard wired to an Ei260ENRC Series CO alarm to allow it to be integrated into a RadioLINK system
The new Ei420 features inputs for interconnect wiring and will send out a RadioLINK alarm signal to trigger the system if it receives a hard wired interconnect signal input.
Additionally, if the Ei420 receives a RadioLINK alarm signal it will output a corresponding signal on the hard-wired line.
This signal is designed to take advantage of Aico's unique Remote Control (RC) technology, now offered as standard on RC Series alarms.
Aico says that interfacing a CO system with a RadioLINK smoke alarm system can offer crucial extra alarm audibility and coverage within a property without the need to double up on alarms or sounders in areas where CO detection is not usually required.
This can also offer significant cost savings and make quality CO protection more economically viable.
The only suggestion is that an Ei411H Control Switch is incorporated into the system.
This wall mounted device, designed to work with the RC Series alarms, allows Test, Hush and Locate functions to be performed from ground level.
This Locate function is vital as it allows the source of the alarm to be identified - a possible fire or CO leak - so the appropriate action can be taken.
The Ei420 can also be used as a stand-alone RadioLINK Repeater Module in installations that require additional signal coverage but where the installation of an additional alarm may not be suitable.
The Ei420 features RadioLINK's unique House-Coding system, which prevents interference from any neighbouring systems coupled with advanced transceiver and signal coding technology to ensure robust and reliable RF signalling.
The unit is mains-powered with built-in 10 year plus rechargeable Lithium cell back-up.
The Ei420 Repeater and CO Alarm Interface comes with a full five year guarantee and has RF performance to EN 300220-3 and EMC performance to EN 301489-1.
