Save money by changing boilers
One of the best ways for households to reduce their energy bills is to replace their boiler with a more efficient model, it has been claimed.
According to the Manchester Evening News, older boilers can lose as much as 40 per cent of the gas they use through their flue.
However, more modern boilers are able to reheat water coming back from radiators with this energy, the newspaper stated.
Consequently, these types of boilers tend to help reduce the amount of energy wasted by making use of 90 per cent of the gas consumed.
For those people looking to install a new boiler, Andrew Leech, technical consultant to the National Home Improvement Council, urged people to leave it to a registered tradesperson.
"They mustn't do anything with their boiler, though; they mustn't tamper with or try to move their boiler, that's something for the professionals, that's got to be done by a Corgi registered person," he commented.
