New training centre manager
EVESHAM & Malvern Hills College have welcomed their new energy training centre manager in the form of Russell Joseph.
Russell brings with him over 31 years of experience in the gas service industry, having started his career with British Gas, and it is hoped his expertise will help develop the college's training courses in oil, LPG, natural gas, water and electrical.
His aim for the energy training centre, located at the college just off Davies Road, is to provide the local area with a one-stop shop for any energy training need, whilst helping to develop green energy production with solar panels and heat source technology.
Russell is keen to work with employers to highlight the benefits of taking on apprentices, and believes that local domestic plumbing and heating engineers will be pleased to learn that he is currently developing a fast track route for gas qualifications and therefore for CORGI registration.
Young trainees who obtain a Level 2 Domestic Heating certificate will be able to fast track into Domestic Heating NVQ 2 training at the college in two years, rather than the normal period of three to four years.
