Ilton company offer helping hand
AN ILTON plumbing company is offering people free safety checks on hot water systems to make sure families aren't faced with a tragedy like the parents of baby Rhianna Hardie.
Rhianna died after suffering 95% burns when a faulty heating system exploded above her cot in Taunton, last year.
An inquest ruled last week that it was a totally avoidable accident.
D E Wells Heating and Plumbing in Ilton are offering the checks to prevent anything like this happening again.
Owner David Wells said: "I have three daughters - two months - five - and 11 and cannot begin to imagine how this little girls family is feeling.
"I am a qualified plumbing and heating engineer and CORGI registered and would just like to do what I can to help to prevent this happening again.
"I would also urge other qualified persons to do the same - we are all busy but a little extra from all of us could really make a difference."
