Green building rules open opportunities for heating firms
Radiator valve and thermostat specialist Honeywell is using its heating expertise to boost a growing trend for sustainable building in China, it has been suggested.
The firm's spokesperson told China Daily that as Honeywell offers a full range of automation and control solutions for both commercial and residential buildings, the country's construction market can thereby create more energy-efficient and comfortable establishments.
Georgy Ko, general manager of Honeywell Building Solutions, also alluded to the Chinese construction industry's new rating system for energy efficiency, which includes regulations on savings in land use, energy, water and construction materials, as well as inspection of indoor air quality.
"The new rating system suggests China has raised its construction criteria, which means higher construction costs and correspondingly higher investment by developers. This opens more opportunities for enterprises like Honeywell," he remarked to the newspaper.
He pointed out that one of Honeywell's "special materials", Enovate 3000, is being used to help insulate walls for seating areas in the country's National Stadium, as the non-flammable liquid is known to resist heat better.
In other recent Honeywell news, Buildingtalk reported that the firm's MTA06 time-saving water supply assembly makes installation "easier and faster" for building and plumbing professionals.
