Free health checks for gas BBQs
CARLISLE residents are being offered free health checks for their gas barbecues and patio heaters.
The quick test will ensure the appliances are safe to use after being packed away over the winter.
The health checks are being offered by Carlisle Calor Centre, Millbrook Road, Kingstown Industrial Estate.
Manager Dennis Marks, said although it is tempting to start using appliances without checking them, it is vital to get them cleaned and serviced if they have been dormant for a long time.
The nine-point visual inspection can be carried out at the Calor Centre premises or can be offered during gas delivery if the inspection has been pre-arranged.
The appliance health check is not a service. Mr Marks recommends that all gas appliances, patio heaters and barbecues are also serviced regularly by a fully qualified CORGI engineer.
