Kadence on the trail of the silent killer

LONDON - Kadence has been appointed by the UK's gas safety body, Corgi with the research aspect of the carbon monoxide awareness campaign.

Gas safety body commissions study to test awareness of the dangers of carbon monoxide
UK- Kadence is to test public awareness of the dangers surrounding carbon monoxide (CO) leakage as part of a new campaign by Corgi, the gas safety and enforcement body.

Carbon monoxide, known as the ‘silent killer’, is responsible for dozens of fatalities and serious injuries every year.

Kadence will conduct a series of telephone and online interviews with gas installers and the general public. It will also conduct focus groups on students in rented accommodation – generally considered a high-risk group.

The campaign was spurred by previous research Kadence undertook for Corgi, which examined the operation of illegal gas workers within the UK market.

The research will measure awareness of CO; understanding of dangers; attitudes in regard to safety and prevention; behaviours such as purchasing and installing CO alarms and checking gas appliances and fireplaces.
