Danfoss valve lets heating professionals fit and forget

Danfoss has recommended its self-acting AVTA valve for cooling applications in heating systems attended by plumbers and heating professionals.

According to the firm, the valve is often referred to as the 'fit and forget' device on account of its reliability.

"It avoids over-consumption of cooling water or hot water and steam from heating systems; it needs no power supply; it's insensitive to dirt and water pressure, making it extremely robust [and] it's easy to install," explains a statement from Danfoss.

Heating professionals note that the AVTA is commonly used in hydraulic power stations as it maintains oil at a fixed temperature of 50 degrees Celsius - important as oil above this temperature becomes unfit for use.

Last year, Danfoss revealed that it had taken its heating expertise across the Irish sea to provide "efficient and reliable heating systems" in multi-family houses and commercial buildings in Dublin.

Engineer Patrick Dunphy said Danfoss' District Heating Flat stations ensured there were no flues to "spoil" the building facade, no dangerous gas pipes to route around the building and carbon emissions were reduced.
