Good piece of kitchen equipment. Easy to use with plain instructions. Good quality heavy enamel crockpot, easily cleaned. Good value
Brilliant Slow Cooker Sent on 15 July 2010
We have been after a slow cooker for a long time and keep reading different reviews and come away more confused than ever. Then we saw this one reduced and thought we have to give it a go.
The cooker arrived well packed and within hours was already cooking our first meal. And it was delicious! My wife has not stopped using it since and is really pleased as it has made her evenings easier, with a decent meal ready when we all get in from work and school.
Very easy to use, good instructions, cleans easily and looks smart on the worktop. Just wished we had bought one earlier!
Slow cookers can produce variable quality results. Sent on 12 July 2010
Slow cooker recipes invariably require you to brown the meat first. I omitted this stage when making a chicken curry because I wanted the flavours to get inside the flesh. Bad move. The curry tasted mainly of bland chicken fat and the spices seemed emasculated. The other drawback was the need to reduce the sauce before serving, so the hoped-for minimal labour input was not achieved.
I shall continue with the slow-cooker, but it clearly needs a lot of getting used to.
Mine is the smaller size on sale...I would suggest the larger one, even if only for two people.
Love this slow cooker Sent on 08 July 2010
Best piece of kitchenware I have bought for a while. It does exactly as it says on the tin. It is great to come home to a cooked meal after a hard day at work. It holds plenty for 4 to 6 people. I can find no fault with it.
